INSPIRIT, a dance company is proud to be back in Washington D.C. as part of this phenomenal festival. Eclipse: 24 Hours of Blackness highlights the artistry of prominent black artists in D.C. and around the world. Each day opens with master classes taught by the artists presenting, and moves into performances by noon. The entire weekend wraps up with Black Expressions Dance: On the Rise – a shared evening of three up and coming choreographers. Christal Brown will teach a master class Sunday at 3 PM The company will perform early Saturday morning: time slot TBA.

Migration, is a physical exploration of the theoretical,
psychological, and geographical migratory landscapes of women.
Combining the multiethnic perspectives of eight female artist of
varying ages and social backgrounds, From Every Angle: Migration

Reflect Connect Move is striving
to address gender violence by organizing, mentoring, and training members in
their home community of Brooklyn to be more aware of the subject on a state
and family level. Through the mentoring arm of the organization INSPIRIT has worked with two teen choreographers to facilitate the growth of a new work by the young dance-makers addressing the issue of gender violence from their perspective.

of collaboration, company members Rhea Patterson and Paloma McGregor have
contributed choreography for Distinctly Akin, imbuing the work with
INSPIRIT’s signature spiritual exuberance, ancestral strength, startling

traditional West African dance, ballet, yoga, and theater.
